The EU’s Digital Operational Resilience Act is a legislation that came into effect in January 2023. DORA is designed to improve the operational resiliency of the financial services sector while mitigating associated risks. To comply with DORA, EU financial institutions must ensure all business-critical third-party applications are protected against severe operational disruption.
DORA requires financial institutions' to include the following provisions in third-party contracts; accessibility, availability, integrity, security, guarantees for access, recovery and return, and verification of ‘exit strategies’
